One of Post58's big goals is to provide service to the community and give back to the outdoor world. In efforts to do so, we have teamed up with local organizations such as P:ear, Urban Nature Partners PDX, Big City Mountaineers, and Janus Youth Programs.
P:ear builds positive relationships with homeless and transitional youth through education, art and recreation to affirm personal worth and create more meaningful and healthier lives.
Urban Nature Partners PDX
Urban Nature Partners PDX empowers youth from historically underserved Portland neighborhoods through long term one-on-one mentoring relationships and access to meaningful outdoor experiences
Janus Youth Programs
Janus Youth Programs is a leader in creating innovative, community-based services which enhance the quality of life for children, youth, and families. They work in partnership with others to create a safe and healthy community.
Foster Youth Programs
Post 58 is working with the State Department of Human Services to offer activities and trips for foster children from Multnomah County. The Post is especially excited about this partnership because there is no non-governmental organization that generally supports Foster Youth, and the Post's efforts could potentially be ground breaking for the families involved.
