Weekend Trips

Post 58 offers trips on weekends once or twice each month.  Typical destinations involve Northwest peaks, backpack trips, and caving.  The cost of these trips is usually limited to the cost of gasoline and camping.

Caving is one of the post's common activities. Students drive to either ____ or _____ and spend the weekend exploring caves with their friends.

Rock Climbing

With world class climbing just 2 hours away, the Post makes regular trips out to Smith Rock.

Weekend mountaineering trips are the Post's staple activity. Each year, we visit Adams, Hood, the Sisters, and many other local mountains.

Conditioning hikes are crucial to success on mountain climbs. As a requisite for summer climbs, students do at least two hikes with the post. Ranging from a few miles to over ten, there are quite a few hikes offered each pre-mountaineering season.
