Snowshoe trip
The snowshoe trip is….. We build snow caves for the first day which is very COLD and WET. the second day we hike in snowshoes much HOTTER and requires more LAYERS.
Day 1:
Coat
What it needs to be - waterproof, light, rainjacket
Explanation/reasoning; you will want a coat that keeps you cool for the second day of hiking but is very dry for high snow exposure on the first day (specific to coats) why different types of waterproofing are important
Example & specifications of why this was the chosen one; https://www.rei.com/product/154832/mountain-hardwear-exposure2-gore-tex-paclite-stretch-jacket-womens ; goretex blah blah blah
Importance - how high of quality does it need to be; rainjackets/waterproof jackets are one of the items to commit more investment in
Rainpants
Pro tip; bring 1 pair that’s warmer for the first day (like snow pants) and a light pair for the second, if you have it
Waterproof gloves
